The Indiana Pacers have added another veteran piece to their roster, agreeing to a two-year contract worth nearly $17 million with forward Kelly Oubre Jr., according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
Oubre joins Indiana after spending the past three seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he evolved into a reliable two-way wing known for his defensive versatility and improved perimeter shooting.
During the 2025-26 season, Oubre averaged 14.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 46.7% from the field and a career-best 36% from three-point range. Over his 11-year NBA career, he has averaged 13.3 points per game.
The 29-year-old has previously suited up for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers, bringing valuable experience to a Pacers team looking to bounce back.
A Key Addition for Indiana
The signing comes after a difficult 2025-26 campaign for Indiana. Following Tyrese Haliburton’s Achilles injury during the 2025 NBA Finals, the Pacers struggled to a 19-63 record, missing the postseason after their Finals appearance the year before.
With Haliburton expected to return next season, Indiana has been aggressive in reshaping its roster. Oubre joins a core that includes Pascal Siakam and newly acquired center Ivica Zubac, giving the Pacers another athletic wing capable of contributing on both ends of the floor.
Oubre’s combination of scoring, defense, and playoff experience should provide valuable depth as Indiana looks to return to the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
